A pair of Italian polychrome terracotta figures of musicians in the chinoiserie taste, 19th century, modeled as a standing gentleman playing a wind instrument and a companion holding a tambourine, wearing elaborately painted robes and headdresses over naturalistically rendered rockwork bases. Retaining their original polychrome decoration with wear and losses consistent with age. Each hollow-modeled in fired earthenware.
