A grand dining table by Karl Springer, the broad top surfaced in panels of natural shagreen framed by exotic wood and a continuous band of gilt lattice stenciling with brass inlay, carried on four square legs with concave faces decorated en suite. The scale — nearly eight feet in length — makes this equally commanding as a dining table, a library table, or a substantial center table in a grand entrance hall. Characteristic of Springer's most labor-intensive production. Original embossed brass maker's plaque intact. Fine vintage condition.
